Member Protection Officers

Member protection describes the practices and procedures that are put in place within sport organisations to protect their members. The FA National Member Protection framework and related policies aim to ensure that core values and positive behaviours are maintained.

The Framework provides the procedures that support the commitment of Football Australia, Football NSW and its affiliated Associations and clubs and provides an effective risk management tool and policies that help to eliminate discrimination, harassment, child abuse and other forms of inappropriate behaviour from football.

Member Protection Information Officers

Member Protection Information Officers (MPIO) are the point of contact at clubs and associations for persons with member protection enquiries or complaints. MPIO’s are impartial and can provide information and options to participants and information to clubs about member protection and related policies. MPIOs do not mediate or investigate complaints.
